Processing Transactions

With the PAX A920 payment terminal, you can swipe the card through the magnetic stripe reader at the top of the terminal, insert the card at the bottom of the terminal to read an EMV chip, or hold (tap) the card close to the NFC reader at the top of the terminal.

Before going live, you run test transactions to confirm that the terminal and network connections work properly. Running test transactions helps you understand the payment flow of each type of transaction and also identifies problems within your system that would interfere with a real-life transaction. When testing the PAX terminal, you should use the test card that is enclosed with the terminal. After all of the transaction types are tested and any issues that are discovered are resolved, the terminal is ready to go into production usage. The payment flows described here are the same for testing as when going live.
