If your store is shielding its Wi-Fi server from the general public, it is using a proxy server and requires a different configuration.
  1. On the IDLE screen, tap
    Settings
    .
  2. When prompted, touch the password field to display a keyboard. Enter 9876 as the Settings password, tap the green check mark at the bottom of the keyboard, and tap
    OK
    .

  3. In the Settings list that appears, slide the
    Wi-Fi
    toggle switch to the right to enable Wi-Fi. The switch is green when enabled.

  4. Tap the
    Wi-Fi
    field. The Wi-Fi screen appears, listing the detected Wi-Fi networks.
  5. In the upper-right corner of the Wi-Fi screen, tap the three vertical dots and choose
    Add network
    . The Add network screen appears.

  6. When the Add network screen, in the
    Network
    name field, enter the SSID for the Wi-Fi network. This field is case-sensitive.

  7. From the
    Security
    drop-down menu, and touch the field and choose a security type.
  8. If the selected type of security prompts for a password, enter the password to access the network. This field is case-sensitive.
  9. Tap
    Advanced Options
    and scroll upward to view additional fields.
  10. From the
    Proxy
    menu, choose
    Manual
    . Additional fields become available, but you might need to scroll the screen upward to see them.

  11. In the
    Proxy hostname
    field, enter the proxy host name.
  12. In the
    Proxy port field
    , enter the port number for the proxy server.

    If a bypass proxy is used, enter that information in the
    Bypass proxy for
    field.
  13. Tap
    IP settings
    , and choose
    Static
    from the menu. Scroll upward to see additional fields.

  14. In the
    Network prefix length
    field, enter the prefix length for the subnetwork.
  15. In the
    DNS 1
    field, enter the IP address for the first domain name system server.
  16. In the
    DNS 2
    field, enter the IP address for the back-up domain name system server.
  17. To save the settings and connect to the network, tap
    Connect
    .
