Configuring Static Access

Because static access uses a single IP address that you specify, more configuration is required than for DHCP access. You might need to consult with your store’s technical department to gather the information necessary to configure a static access connection.
  1. On the IDLE screen, tap
    Settings
    . The Settings password prompt appears.

  2. Touch the password field to display a keyboard. Enter 9876 as the Settings password, tap the green check mark at the bottom of the keyboard, and tap
    OK
    .
  3. In the Settings list that appears, slide the
    Wi-Fi
    toggle switch to the right to enable Wi-Fi. The switch is green when enabled.

  4. Tap the
    Wi-Fi
    field. The Wi-Fi screen appears, listing the detected Wi-Fi networks.
  5. Choose a network and enter the Wi-Fi password. The password is case-sensitive.
  6. Choose
    Advanced Options
    .
  7. From the
    IP settings
    drop-down list, choose
    Static
    . Scroll upward to view additional options.

  8. In the
    IP address
    field, enter the static IP address.
  9. In the
    Gateway
    field, enter the IP address for your gateway and scroll upward to reveal more fields to configure.
  10. In the
    Network prefix length
    field, enter the prefix length for the subnetwork.
  11. In the
    DNS 1
    field, enter the IP address for the first domain name system server.
  12. In the
    DNS 2
    field, enter the IP address for the second domain name system server.
  13. To save the settings and return to the Wi-Fi screen, tap
    Connect
    .
