. This restriction will apply to all existing resellers and direct merchants using the service. BIN Lookup Service 2.0 with the current set of enabled networks will continue for existing clients until October 1, 2025, and there will be no immediate disruption in service. Our current focus is moving the service from Limited Availability to General Availability, and working on enhanced product features.
Any new resellers or direct merchants need to have an agreement and pricing in place to be enabled for the BIN Lookup Service. They can be enabled for American Express, Discover, and Visa along with certain regional networks.

Account Funding Transactions Now Available on

Account Funding Transactions (AFTs) Are now supported on the
Streamline
processor. AFTs allow customers to withdraw funds from one account and deposit the funds into a second account. AFTs can be used only to transfer funds between two accounts owned by the same individual or entity. For example, an AFT can be used to load a prepaid card from a checking account as long as both accounts are owned by a single person or entity.
This feature complies with the Visa mandate. Further updates will be completed to ensure compliance with Mastercard in a future release.

Enhanced TMS Integration Features for the REST API

Unified Checkout will support new alternative payment methods, offering enhanced flexibility for merchants and their customers. The new alternative payment methods must be enabled before Unified Checkout can leverage them.
These new payment methods will be available for Unified Checkout:
  • Afterpay: a Buy Now Pay Later solution that allows customers to purchase products immediately and pay in four interest-free installments, provided payments are made on time. Afterpay is available in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. In the United States, it is known as
    Cash App Afterpay
    . In the United Kingdom, it is known as
    Clearpay
    .
  • iDEAL: this e-commerce payment system, popular in the Netherlands, enables customers to pay for goods directly from their bank accounts using online bank transfers to the merchant's account.
  • Multibanco: widely used in Portugal, Multibanco enables consumers to pay for various goods and services, including e-commerce transactions, licenses, and taxes. This payment method can be used post-purchase using bank transfer or with a Multibanco card at an ATM. With more than 12,000 machines nationwide, Multibanco is a key payment method for Portuguese consumers and is supported by all banks in Portugal, making it accessible to all Portuguese online shoppers.

To use this functionality in Unified Checkout, ensure that the

You can implement this feature through the Token Management Service. Push Account Updater requires enrollment to Visa Account Updater. It is configured at the product level and subscribed through token creation calls.

The radio button will default to the scheme specified by the merchant in the Capture Context request, but the payment will be processed using the scheme selected by the customer in Unified Checkout.

Traditionally, a refund transaction processed by a merchant, also known as an
offline credit
, could be processed without the authorization of the card issuer. This process can take anywhere from a few days to a month, leaving the customer without funds for an unknown length of time. Customers sometimes initiate chargeback requests when this happens.
Card networks now require an authorization request for every credit card credit or return transaction to provide real-time balance updates to cardholders. The credit response will include the authorization code, transaction ID, and authorization response code.
Customer Impact
This feature will benefit merchants and customers by speeding up refund processing and reducing occurrences of chargebacks that are created in error.

AFT to Be Supported Through OmniPay

With this release, merchants who process through Omnipay will be able to process Account Funding Transactions (AFT).
Customer Impact
An AFT is a transaction in which funds are withdrawn from a Visa or Mastercard account and used to fund another account. When an AFT is used independently to fund another Visa or non-Visa account, AFTs must only be used to fund an account belonging to the same individual or entity holding the account from which the funds have been pulled. For example, AFTs can be used for:
  • Loading or topping up prepaid card accounts.
  • Moving funds into another financial account, such as a savings account.
  • Acting as a funding source for person-to-person (P2P) money transfers.
  • Loading third-party digital wallets.

Rule-based routing will enable merchants using multiple processors to set up a rule-based routing scheme. The scheme will automatically specify the processor through which a payment will processed.

Email and SMS Messages to Merchants
eCheck information will be added to emails and SMS messages that the merchant receives, for these types of information:

Email and SMS Messages to Portfolio Owners
If merchant exceeds monthly processing limit, we continue accepting transactions for processing but we put the merchant account on a funding hold. The merchant will receive a notification about it and will be required to contact our Underwriting/Risk team to negotiate new processing limits and unblock the funding hold. With this release, we will also send SMS and email notifications to the portfolio owner of those merchants, notifying them about the funding hold application. This message enables the portfolio owner to manage the experience of the merchant and to be involved in the processing limit negotiations.
Webhoook Notifications for Transaction Status Change
A new webhook event subscription will be added that merchants can use to receive webhook notifications whenever a transaction status has changed.
Customer Impact
These webhook notifications will provide better transaction awareness, giving merchants more control of their operations.

Generating Reports with eCheck Transaction Using Reporting API

Benefit
This feature will provide for a better user experience across the two products. While Decision Manager and Fraud Management Essentials will not decline transactions with missing values for the fields listed above, more data will improve the model results. Description
The Payer Authentication (3-D Secure) feature in the Business Center will be divided into basic and advanced functionality. Basic functionality will be provided by default. Merchants who need to configure multiple currencies can choose the Advanced functionality.
This release will also enable merchants to choose domestic payment card networks that are relevant to their business. The Payer Authentication page will display relevant payment card networks based on the merchant's template or country code and merchants will be able to choose additional payment card networks, based on their business needs.
In addition, the legacy user interface (version 1) for Payer Authentication has been updated based on security recommendations. Merchants can contact Customer Support if they need to update their Payer Authentication Cruise credentials.

New Declined Payment Status Added to Fraud Management Essentials

For all transactions that are screened by Fraud Management Essentials (FME), a new
declined
status will be generated for any transaction that invokes a declination or error response from the card issuer. Today, these transactions are not included in FME. This status will be final and will not be subsequently editable. The introduction of this new status will allow:
  • Issuer declined transactions to appear in FME Order Search query results and Order Details screens.
  • Issuer declined transactions to be subject to marking tool functionality.
  • Issuer declined transactions to be included in total transaction volume across applicable FME reports and reporting capabilities.
Customer Impact
By identifying issuer declines and errors, merchants will be able to track issuer decline rates, allowing them to detect changes that may adversely impact their payments.
