As of October 18, 2024, acquirers that choose to accept Visa digital credential updater
must support Token VDCU Update First Use Indicator in CP01 TCR 6 position 159.
Acquirers that participate in the Visa Token Service must modify their systems to
support the new Tag 0E in TLV Field 123, Usage 2, Dataset ID 68 in response and
adjustment advice messages for e-commerce and card-on-file transactions.
The new tag will be used to indicate that a token is being used for the first time
since the underlying PAN or PAN expiration date was updated in VDCU. It will be sent
to acquirers in response and acquirer advice messages for e-commerce and
card-on-file transactions.
To help acquirers that participate in the Visa Token Service identify the first time
a token isused after VDCU has updated the underlying PAN or PAN expiration date,
Visa will send an indicator in the response message.
Acquirers
Acquirers that participate in the Visa Token Service must support the Token VDCU Update
First Use Indicator in response and adjustment advice messages.
