Execution Date and Refund Period

The execution date of a direct debit is specified in the
paymentDetails_executionDate
field.
When an execution date is provided, an attempt is made to process the request on the provided date. The actual execution date can vary because the
SEPA
scheme has some non-processing dates during the year. If the execution date coincides with a non-processing date, the execution date moves to the earliest available processing date. If the execution date is moved, notification of the earliest available processing date is returned in the response.
When no execution date is provided, the next available processing date is used as the execution date.

Execution Date Rules

The execution date in a direct debit request is processed according to these
SEPA
scheme rules:
  • The execution date is in the future and can be met, so the execution date defined in the request is used.
  • The execution date is in the future but cannot be met. For example, when the requested execution date is too close to the current date to be processed, the execution date in the request moves to the next possible execution date.
  • The execution date has already passed, so the direct debit request is rejected. To execute a payment as soon as possible, do not provide the date.
