Installing Required Software and Encryption Keys on the PAX Terminal

Before the payment terminal can automatically perform remote software and key injection, the device must be activated on the
Cybersource
 platform. The device must also be connected to the internet using a Wi-Fi network or Ethernet connection.
These are the steps in the automated download and installation process for software and encryption keys on the PAX terminal:
  1. Using the Wi-Fi connection, the terminal connects to the PAX terminal management system (PAXSTORE).
  2. The device starts automatically downloading all required software and encryption keys.
  3. The device emits a brief sound to indicate that the download activity started.
  4. During this process, the terminal screen displays a message that shows what is being downloaded on the terminal.
  5. If you do not hear the sound from the terminal or see a message on the screen about the software download, tap the PAXSTORE app on the device to verify that the terminal is connected to the PAX terminal management system. You also have the option to manually trigger downloads in the app.
