Enabling an Ethernet Static Connection on the PAX Terminal

In order to enable an Ethernet connection, an Ethernet cable must be connected to your PAX terminal and point-of-sale (POS) system. For more information about the Ethernet cable, see Connecting the Ethernet Cable to the PAX Terminal.
Follow these steps to enable the Ethernet static connection on the PAX terminal:
  1. On the terminal Home screen, tap the
    Settings
    icon. You are prompted to enter the system password.
    • If you are a first-time user, enter the default Settings password:
      pax9876@@
      . Tap the
      Checkmark
      . The Settings screen appears.
      To change the default password, in the Device section, tap
      Password
      . Follow the prompts to change your password.
    • If you changed your password before, enter your system password. Tap the
      Checkmark
      . The Settings screen appears.
  2. In the Wireless & networks section, tap the slider next to the
    Ethernet
    icon to enable Ethernet.
  3. Tap the
    Ethernet
    icon. The Ethernet network connection settings screen appears.
  4. Scroll down and then tap
    Ethernet Configuration
    . A pop-up menu appears.
  5. Choose
    Static
    . A screen appears with fields in which you will enter this information:

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • In the IP address field, enter the static IP address for your network.
    • In the Netmask field, enter the IP address for your netmask.
    • In the Gateway field, enter the IP address for your gateway.
    • In the DNS 1 field, enter the IP address for the first domain name system server.
    • In the DNS 2 field, enter the IP address for the second domain name system server.
  6. Tap
    Save
    .
  7. To exit the Ethernet screen, tap the back arrow until you reach the Home screen.
