Custom Fields
Use this window to add, edit, or delete custom fields. You can define a maximum of 100
custom fields for information specific to your business. When creating custom rules, you
can use these fields as additional order elements.
The MDD column contains the number of the merchant-defined field. The Type column
contains the data type for the field.
You can delete custom fields even if they are used in custom rules or velocity rules.
However, if you delete custom fields, your rules may not work as intended.
WARNING
Custom lists, rules, and fields are not intended to and must not be
used to capture personally identifying information. Accordingly, merchants are
prohibited from capturing, obtaining, and/or transmitting any personally identifying
information in or via custom lists, rules, or fields. Personally identifying
information includes, but is not limited to, address, credit card number, social
security number, driver's license number, state-issued identification number,
passport number, and card verification numbers (CVV, CVC2, CVV2, CID, CVN). In the
event it is discovered that a merchant is capturing and/or transmitting personally
identifying information via custom lists, rules, or fields, whether or not
intentionally, the merchant's account is immediately suspended, which results in a
rejection of any and all transaction requests submitted by the merchant after the
point of suspension.
If you belong to a group of merchants
: You can view the custom fields but only
your group administrator can create or delete them. If you are added to a group of
merchants after you create custom fields, your custom fields are replaced with the
group’s custom fields. The background color of the row distinguishes merchant and group
fields.
