Each organization has a
type
field that defines the organization’s role in
the hierarchy. Two types of organizations are available to the Boarding API. When you create a
merchant organization, a corresponding transacting organization is created, and its
information is returned in the response. You can create one merchant/transacting combination
per API request.Type | Description |
---|---|
MERCHANT | Represents a legal business entity. For example, if a holding company owns
three brands that are legal business entities, the organization representing each
brand would be set as a merchant type. |
TRANSACTING | The entity that sends payment transactions. It is always a leaf-level or
lowest-level organization. Typically, it is a retail or online store. |
STRUCTURAL | Conceptual entity used to organize and divide the hierarchy of organizations.
Enables you to apply rules, product subscriptions, and configurations to a grouping
of all child organizations beneath the structural organization. You can also use it
for reporting purposes. |
