Configuring a PAX Terminal Cellular Connection Using a SIM Card

This section describes how to configure the PAX terminal cellular connection using a SIM card.

If your Wi-Fi connection is out of range, the PAX terminal can use a cellular connection to connect to the internet. Although using a cellular connection is slower and possibly more expensive than using a Wi-Fi connection, it is an effective back-up method.

A SIM card is required in order to configure a cellular connection for the payment terminal. The SIM card provides access to 4G/3G networks for a cellular connection.

IMPORTANT

A SIM card is not provided with the payment terminal, so you must purchase it separately. Your service provider can recommend which SIM card to use with your PAX terminal.

In order to help reduce data and operating costs, you can work with Customer Supporthttp://support.visaacceptance.com to remotely install software updates and apps on your terminal using only a Wi-Fi connection.
