Chapter 3
New Reporting System Features
This chapter describes some of the features provided by the new reporting system.
New Reports
The new reporting system provides a variety of summary reports that are not included in the current reporting system. These new reports are available weekly or monthly.
There may be an additional charge for the new summary reports. When you start using the new reporting Web site, you will be able to see which summary reports you can access. If you want to use additional summary reports, contact CyberSource Customer Support for information.
A daily and weekly sample of each new summary report will be generated for all ICS2 customers. The daily samples will show transactions for January 1, 2002, and the weekly samples will show transactions from January 6, 2002-January 12, 2002.
Note If you do not request any transactions that would appear in a report, the sample report will be empty. For example, if your company does not use Smart Authorization, your sample of the Smart Authorization Profile Code Distribution Report will be empty.
Except for the sample reports, none of the new summary reports are generated by default.
For information about which reports replace the current reporting system's reports, see Choosing Reports.
Payment Transaction Analysis Report
For all payment transactions, this report shows the following information:
- How many transactions you requested
- What percentage of transactions received each CyberSource reply flag
Also, for credit card authorizations, this report shows what percentage of transactions received each Address Verification Service (AVS) result code.
The administrator's version of this report can include aggregate data for more than one merchant ID. It also includes separate data for each individual merchant ID. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Payment Order Analysis Report
For all payment transactions, this report shows the following information:
- What bill-to countries your customers provided
- What percentage of transactions used each bill-to country
The administrator's version of this report can include aggregate data for more than one merchant ID. It also includes separate data for each individual merchant ID. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Risk Score Distribution Report
For all Advanced Fraud Screen transactions, this report shows what percentage of transactions received a score within a given five-number range.
For example, the report could say that 7 percent of your transactions received a score between 31 and 35, which indicates moderate risk.
The administrator's version of this report can include aggregate data for more than one merchant ID. It also includes separate data for each individual merchant ID. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Risk Profile Code Distribution Report
For all Advanced Fraud Screen transactions, this report shows what percentage of transactions received a given risk profile code.
For example, the report could say that 2 percent of your transactions received the profile code A, which indicates that your customer has had numerous address changes.
The administrator's version of this report can include aggregate data for more than one merchant ID. It also includes separate data for each individual merchant ID. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Risk Profile Code Summary Report
For each risk profile code, this report shows the following information:
- How many transactions received each profile code
- Which merchant IDs received each profile code
- What percentage of each merchant ID's transactions received each profile code
This report is available only to administrator users. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Smart Authorization Profile Code Distribution Report
For all Smart Authorization transactions, this report shows what percentage of transactions received a given risk profile code.
For example, the report could say that 2 percent of your transactions received the profile code N, which indicates that the customer's name or address contained nonsensical data.
The administrator's version of this report can include aggregate data for more than one merchant ID. It also includes separate data for each individual merchant ID. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Smart Authorization Profile Code Summary Report
For each risk profile code, this report shows the following information:
- How many transactions received each profile code
- Which merchant IDs received each profile code
- What percentage of each merchant ID's transactions received each profile code
This report is available only to administrator users. See Administrator Users for more information about report administrators.
Aggregated Reporting
If your company uses more than one CyberSource merchant ID, you can use the new reporting system to do the following:
- View all of your company's transactions in a single report
- View summary reports for each individual merchant ID
- Configure summary reports for all of your company's merchant IDs
If you want to use this feature, contact CyberSource Customer Support for more information.
Administrator Users
An administrator user controls reports for one or more CyberSource merchant IDs. The administrator user configures reports and chooses which summary and detail reports your company will receive.
The administrator's reports can include transactions for more than one merchant ID. In addition, two summary reports can be viewed only by administrator users. See Risk Profile Code Summary Report and Smart Authorization Profile Code Summary Report for more information about these reports.
When you start using the new reporting system, you will have one administrator userthe default administrator userfor each of your CyberSource merchant IDs. The default administrator user's name will be the same as the merchant ID, but the text
_adminwill be added at the end. For example, if your merchant ID issample, your default administrator user will be calledsample_admin.The password for the default administrator user will be the same as the password for the merchant ID. You can change the default password when you start using the new reporting system.
If you have more than one merchant ID, and you want to group your merchant IDs under a single administrator, contact CyberSource Customer Support for more information.
Report Configuration
The new reporting system provides several new configuration options for your reports.
Note Only administrator users can change these new configuration options. See Administrator Users for information about report administrators.
Detailed information about configuring your reports will be available in January 2002.
Time Zone
You can specify which time zone you want to use for many reports. The default time zone for all reports is Pacific time.
The following reports always use Pacific time:
- Digital Download Report
- Distributor Report
- ELC Report
- Invoice Summary Report
- Payment Batch Detail Report
- Payment Batch Summary Report
- Serial Number Inventory Report
Fiscal Week
You can specify which day of the week to use as the beginning of your fiscal week.
If you currently receive the Payment Batch Summary Report, your fiscal week in the new system will start on the same day as your current Payment Batch Summary Report. Otherwise, your fiscal week will start on Sunday.
Date and Time Formatting
You can choose the format that summary reports use to present dates and times. CSV and XML reports always use the same format for dates and times.
Language
You will be able to choose whether to view the new reporting Web site in English or Japanese. This feature will be available in a future release.
Test Server
If you send transactions to the ICS2 test server, you can view reports for these transactions on the new reporting system's test server. More information about the test server will be provided in the CyberSource Reporting User's Guide, available in January 2002.
Number Format
If a number represents an amount of money, it will use the correct number of decimal places for the appropriate currency. For example, 1,000 United States dollars would be represented as
1000.00, but 1,000 Japanese yen would be represented as1000.
