Appendix A

Frequently Asked Questions

This appendix provides answers for common questions about the new reporting system.

Availability

When can I use the new reporting system?

The new system will be available in January 2002.

Can I continue to use the current reporting system after January 2002?

The current reporting system will continue to create new reports until March 20, 2002. You must migrate to the new system before then.

How much does it cost to use the new reporting system?

Many reports, including those that you can reconcile with processor and bank statements, are available at no charge.

There may be an additional charge for the new summary reports. When you start using the new reporting Web site, you will be able to see which summary reports you can access. If you want to use additional summary reports, contact CyberSource Customer Support for information.

Can I still access my old reports from the current reporting system?

Your reports from the current reporting system will be available until July 15, 2002. You cannot access your old reports after this date.

Migrating to the New System

How do I access my reports with the new reporting system?

For summary reports, you access the reports with a browser that supports Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language (DHTML), such as current versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. For detail reports, you implement a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) client application or use a Web browser to download the reports.

How do I configure my new reports?

You use the new reporting Web site to configure your reports. More information about the Web site will be available in January 2002.

Note  In the new reporting system, only administrators can configure reports. See Administrator Users for more information.

Will my current configuration settings be migrated to the new system?

Some of your settings from the current system will be migrated to the new system. See Chapter 2, "Migrating to the New Reporting System" for more information.

Features of the New System

What report formats do you provide?

Each report is provided in at least one of the following formats:

Can I get reports that show transactions for more than one CyberSource merchant ID?

Yes. In the new reporting system, some summary reports enable you to combine transactions from several merchant IDs into a single report. If you want to use this feature, contact CyberSource Customer Support for more information.

Do you provide reports that can help me configure Advanced Fraud Screen?

Yes. The new system provides several summary reports that show how many transactions are accepted and rejected by Advanced Fraud Screen. You can use this information to calibrate your Advanced Fraud Screen settings.

Can I view sample reports for my own test transactions?

Yes. If you send transactions to the test server, you can view sample reports that show these transactions.

When you generate a report on the new reporting system, how long is it available?

On the production version of the reporting system, you can access reports for six months after they are generated.

On the test version of the new reporting system, reports are deleted two weeks after they are generated.

Can I view reports for old transactions? For example, if I request transactions in May, can I view reports for them in July?

Yes, as long as you configure your reports correctly before you request the transactions. The new reporting system generates only the reports that you request.

Important  CyberSource will not generate reports for old transactions.

Will there be documentation that explains how to use CyberSource reports?

Yes. A user's guide will explain how to use CyberSource's reporting Web site to access and configure your reports. Also, online help will be available at the Web site.
