Overview of the CCC

CyberSource® Commerce Cartridge for Intershop 4.0 or 4.2 Hosting, version 3.4.1.0, enables you to integrate CyberSource Corporation services for Credit Card Processing into your Intershop eCommerce Web site. The cartridge integrates seamlessly with Intershop 4.0 or 4.2 Hosting and Merchant editions.

CyberSource eCommerce Services

CyberSource Commerce Cartridge (CCC) for Intershop 4.0/4.2 Hosting provides several eCommerce services for integration into an Intershop eCommerce Web site.

CyberSource Small Business supports Credit Card Procesing. Other services in this integration are not supported for CyberSource Small Business.

CyberSource Credit Card Processing

The CCC for Intershop Hosting enables you to use CyberSource Credit Card Services. When you issue a supported Intershop Hosting command, the component uses CyberSource to process the transaction and stores information about the transaction in Intershop Hosting's database.

Warning  Do not use any application other than Intershop Hosting to modify the database. If you use another application to modify the database, your data may be corrupted, and Intershop Hosting may not work properly

The following figure shows how credit card authorization works with the CCC for Intershop Hosting.

Request
  1. Your customer places an order.
  2. Your front-end server executes the pipeline, which includes the CCC.
  3. Intershop Hosting sends a request to CyberSource for the ics_auth application.
  4. CyberSource contacts your credit card processor and requests authorization.
  5. The processor sends the transaction to the correct card association, and the card association sends the transaction to the issuing bank for the customer's credit card.
Reply
  1. The issuing bank approves or declines the request and sends a reply to the card association, which sends a reply to the processor.
  2. The processor sends a reply to CyberSource.
  3. CyberSource sends a reply to Intershop Hosting.
  4. Intershop Hosting stores information about the transaction in its database.
  5. Intershop Hosting sends a reply to your front-end server.
  6. The front-end server displays an appropriate message to your customer

If you accept orders from outside the United States, consider configuring the CyberSource Commerce Cartridge to accept additional currencies or switch cards. See Enabling CyberSource Services and Tracking for more information.
