Gift Card Processing

The Cybersource gift card services are supported in card-present and card-not-present environments. These services enable you to manage the balances for a gift card after it is purchased.

Service	Description
Activation	Activates a single gift card or a group of card-present gift cards in bulk.
Balance Inquiry	Checks the balance of a gift card.
Redemption	Redeems a gift card. Types of redemptions: nCASHOUT: redeems the remaining funds on the gift card for cash, brings the balance to zero, and closes the account. This option is available when the gift card balance is below a pre-set minimum. nREDEMPTION: redeems the physical gift card for the full amount of the purchase. When the card has insufficient funds, the transaction is declined. nREDEMPTION_PARTIAL_ALLOWED: redeems the physical gift card for the full amount. When the card has insufficient funds, the transaction is approved for a partial redemption and prompts the terminal to process a split-tender transaction. nWEB_REDEMPTION: redeems the virtual gift card for the full amount of the purchase. When the card has insufficient funds, the transaction is declined. nWEB_REDEMPTION_PARTIAL_ALLOWED: redeems the virtual gift card for the full amount. When the card has insufficient funds, the transaction is approved for a partial redemption and prompts the terminal to process a split-tender transaction.
Refund	Refunds a redemption to the gift card. Types of refunds: REFUND: refunds a physical gift card redemption. WEB_REFUND: refunds a virtual gift card redemption.
Reload	Adds funds to an activated gift card.
Reversal	Reverses a timed-out activation, redemption, voided activation, or voided redemption.
Void	Voids a gift card activation, redemption, refund, or reload.
