Gift Card Processing

The CyberSource gift card services are supported in a card-present environment. These services enable you to manage the balances for a gift card after it is purchased.

Service	Description
Activation	Activates a gift card.
Balance Inquiry	Checks the balance of a gift card.
Redemption	Redeems a gift card. Types of redemptions: nREDEMPTION: redeems the gift card for the full amount of the purchase. When the card has insufficient funds, the transaction is declined. nREDEMPTION_PARTIAL_ALLOWED: redeems the gift card for the full amount. When the card has insufficient funds, the transaction is approved for a partial redemption and prompts the terminal to process a split tender transaction. nCASHOUT: redeems the remaining funds on the gift card for cash, brings the balance to zero, and closes the account. This option is available when the gift card balance is below a preset minimum.
Reversal	Reverses a timed-out activation, redemption, voided activation, or voided redemption.
Void	Voids an activation or redemption.
