Configuring Wi-Fi Network IP Connections on the PAX Terminal {#pax-terminal-configure-wifi-connection}
======================================================================================================

These are the IP connections that you can use to connect the PAX terminal to your Wi-Fi network:

Dynamic IP connection
:
****Description:**** When using the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) IP connection, the payment terminal is randomly assigned IP addresses by your internet service provider when you access the internet. This type of connection is also called a *dynamic IP connection*.
:
**Benefits:** Simplifies network management and eliminate the need to manually configure Wi-Fi settings on each PAX terminal.
:
**Get started:** See [Configuring a Dynamic IP Connection for a Wi-Fi Network on the PAX Terminal](/docs/cybs/en-us/pax-a920/activation/all/pax-a920/pax-a920/pax-terminal-configure-connect-intro/pax-terminal-configure-wifi-connection/pax-terminal-configure-wifi-dynamic-intro.md "").

Static IP connection
:
****Description:**** The static IP connection uses a single IP address that you specify in the terminal settings.
:
**Benefits:** Improves network reliability, enhances security, and enables easier device management.
:
**Prerequisite:** Before starting this configuration, consult your IT department to obtain information that is required to configure this type of network connection.
:
**Get started:** See [Configuring a Static IP Connection for a Wi-Fi Network on the PAX Terminal](/docs/cybs/en-us/pax-a920/activation/all/pax-a920/pax-a920/pax-terminal-configure-connect-intro/pax-terminal-configure-wifi-connection/pax-terminal-configure-wifi-static-intro.md "").

Proxy IP connection
:
**Description:** Use the proxy IP connection when your Wi-Fi network is hidden by a proxy server so that it cannot be detected as a publicly available network.
:
**Benefits:** Masks your IP address, enhances online anonymity, encrypts your internet traffic, and protects data from being intercepted by third parties.
:
**Prerequisite:** Before starting this configuration, consult your IT department to obtain information that is required to configure this type of network connection.
:
**Get started:** See [Configuring a Proxy IP Connection for a Wi-Fi Network on the PAX Terminal](/docs/cybs/en-us/pax-a920/activation/all/pax-a920/pax-a920/pax-terminal-configure-connect-intro/pax-terminal-configure-wifi-connection/pax-terminal-configure-wifi-proxy-intro.md "").
